Epping - Chatswood Line

Summary

Track: 11.74 km
Stations: 5 / 6 in use

The Epping - Chatswood line has been planned for many decades, although construction didn't commence until 2002. The line is completely underground, except for a short section as it approaches Chatswood. Originally the line was to cross the Lane Cove River in an overhead bridge, however environmental pressures forced the line to be built much lower, so that it went under the river. This change meant that the planned station servicing the University of Western Sydney Lindfield campus had to be cancelled, as it would have been too deep.
