| Description: |
A major location along the line, Gilgandra station sat on a 73m down-side platform. Opposite were a number of sidings serving a loading bank, goods shed, grain shed, jib crane, silo and stockyards. Water tanks were placed at each end of a crossing loop. At the up end of the yard was a turning triangle with coal stage. The station closed in 1990.

| Current status: |
All that remains of the station is a short elevated platform with an 8-lever frame and yard diagram. Adjacent to this is a modern staff hut. Within the yard all that remains is a loading bank, the silo, with the base of the crane and the grain shed.
