Guyra - Dorrigo Line

Summary

Track: 99.40 km
Stations: 0 / 2 in use

With the opening of the Glenreagh-Dorrigo line, there were proposals to extend the line to Guyra (and even eventually Moree via Inverell). Legislation was approved in 1928 and construction started in 1929. This was halted in 1932 during the Depression and never re-started. About 13km of embankments and cuttings from the Guyra end are the only evidence of the line.

The line was to leave the Main North line 3km north of Guyra and head east for about 57km, passing just to south of the proposed village of Falconer along the way. It would then turn to the south-east for 29km and pass the head of the Guy Fawkes River near Ebor. This section is approximated by the present day Guyra-Ebor road. From here, it generally followed the line of the main road to Dorrigo.

The total length of the line was to be around 143km.
