Description: |
The facilities at Hay were quite impressive, given the class of the line. The reason is that in 1920 the Commonwealth Railways proposed building a standard gauge line from Port Augusta to Hay via Morgan and Wentworth, and Hay was to be where locos were changed over.

Current status: |
The station building is in excellent condition and is being reused by local bodies. The yard has been almost totally lifted. In the platform are 3 carriages, one being used as a museum. A large water tank and goods shed remain in the yard area.
